Sunny Hathiramani to speak at INSOL Focus Webinar 2021
13Apr2021On Tuesday 20 April, Restructuring and Insolvency Partner Sunny Hathiramani will speak on a webinar hosted by the International Association of Restructuring, Insolvency & Bankruptcy Professionals (INSOL International), the foremost organisation for accountants and lawyers who specialise in turnaround and insolvency.
The webinar is on cross-border insolvencies under the pandemic. Sunny’s co-speakers are:
- Lisa Schweitzer of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton LLP (USA);
- Rachelle Ann Frisby of Deloitte (Bermuda); and
- Andrew Thorp of Harneys (British Virgin Islands).
Ian Fox of Dentons (UK) will moderate.
The panel will discuss the common themes that have emerged in cross-border cases throughout the pandemic, focusing in particular on practical issues faced by restructuring and insolvency professionals and developments on the ground. The panel will talk about specific sectors that have required cross-border restructurings, the use and effect of court-to-court protocols, whether there has been an increased willingness to recognise foreign proceedings in some jurisdictions, and they will also look at cultural thematic changes brought about by the pandemic.
The webinar will take place at 8pm Hong Kong time (8am BVI, 9am Bermuda, 1pm UK time).
