Tanner De Witt is looking to recruit a motivated team leader to join our independent Hong Kong law firm as our Accounting Manager.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Accounting
- Minimum 15 years’ experience in sizable company handling full set of accounts
- Must have experience managing a team
- Must be able to motivate people, mediate conflicts, encourage and train juniors
- Attentive to details, strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills and sense of responsibilities
- Experience in using accounting computer software, such as Peachtree, Aderant and Affinity, is an advantage
- Proficient in MS Excel & Word
- Good command of English and Cantonese
- Member of HKICPA/ACCA is an advantage
- Relevant experience in law firms is preferred
- Immediate availability is preferred
Key responsibilities
- Work with a team of Accountants as a “team captain”
- Handle and review daily accounting operations such as issue cheques, handle petty cash and staff claims, update bank balances, review bank reconciliations and update exchange rates on the system
- Prepare, review and analyse weekly, quarterly, half yearly and yearly reports to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Timely on payments to the relevant parties within the firm
- Able to handle payroll and IRD salaries tax return forms
- Maintain organized filing system for accounting records
- Maintain good accounting and operation controls to comply with audit requirements
- Attend to queries raised by partners and colleagues
- Liaise with external auditors and other professional parties on annual audit
- Liaise with external parties such as banks, government bodies, clients and vendors
- Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
- Ability to communicate and co-ordinate with relevant internal and external parties with regards to new accounting software implementation
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned
