09Dec2015Partner Russell Bennett of our Employment practice represented Tanner De Witt at the Law Society of Hong Kong Pro Bono and Community Service Award presentation ceremony on Friday 4th December. The ceremony took place at the High Court and awards were handed out by Vice President of the Law Society and Chairlady of the Pro Bono and Community Work Recognition Committee, Ms Melissa Kaye Pang, MH, JP.
We are pleased to announce that our firm received a Bronze Law Firm Award for our pro bono work. The award recognises a local or international law firm that has made an outstanding contribution in the provision of pro bono services. In total 14 law firms and 99 individual members received awards at the ceremony.
In order to win the Bronze Award, the law firm must achieve no less than 10 scores which is calculated thus: half the scores come from the average number of pro bono hours per lawyer of a law firm in the award period (2014 – 2015), while the other half represent the percentage of lawyers who performed more than 10 hours of pro bono work. In total we performed more than 260 hours of pro bono work for charitable organisations in the twelve months leading to June 2015.
Winners of the Bronze Award include (in alphabetical order):
- Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer
